Summary
DeenMate is an Islamic utility app that helps you find the Qibla, view prayer times, read Quran and Hadith, keep a dhikr counter, browse duas, and set prayer reminders. We do not require an account, and we do not sell your personal data. Location and notification access are used only to provide core features on your device. Most preferences stay stored locally on your phone.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how Zentova Solutions (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile application DeenMate (the “App”).

2. Information we collect
DeenMate is designed to work with minimal personal data. Depending on the features you use, the App may process the following:
2.1 Information processed on your device
- Approximate or precise location — used to calculate Qibla direction, prayer times for your area, reverse-geocode a place name for display, and open a map search for nearby mosques when you choose that action.
- Device compass / heading — used to show live Qibla alignment.
- App preferences and progress stored locally (for example theme, selected qari/tafsir, last-read Quran position, dhikr counts, prayer reminder settings, needle/counter styles, and optional in-app rating prompt state).
- Audio playback state — processed on-device so Quran/dhikr audio can continue while the App is in the background.
2.2 Information you choose to share
- If you use the system Share sheet (for example to share a dua or hadith), the content you select is shared through your device’s sharing tools. We do not operate that share destination.
2.3 What we do not collect
- No user accounts, passwords, or profiles
- No payment or financial information inside the App
- No advertising identifiers collected by us for ads (the App does not include an ad SDK)
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs identified in the current App build for tracking you across apps
- We do not knowingly sell or rent personal information
Microphone permission text may appear in platform configuration because of audio libraries, but DeenMate is not designed to record your voice. Quran and dhikr features play audio only.
3. How we use information
We use the information above solely to:
- Provide Qibla direction and prayer-time calculations
- Schedule optional azan / prayer reminders and alarms you enable
- Load Quran text, translations, tafsir, audio, and Hadith content you request
- Remember your settings and reading/dhikr progress on your device
- Optionally invite you to rate the App after positive in-app moments
- Open third-party map or store pages when you tap related actions
- Maintain and improve App reliability and religious utility features
4. Permissions
| Permission | Why it is requested |
|---|---|
| Location (while using the App) | Qibla calculation, prayer times, place label, and optional “nearby mosque” map links. You can deny location; related features may be limited or unavailable. |
| Notifications | Optional prayer / azan reminders. You control this in system settings and in-app reminder toggles. |
| Exact alarms / schedule exact alarm (Android) | Helps deliver prayer reminders at the correct time when you enable azan alarms. |
| Vibrate, wake lock, foreground service / media playback | Support reminder feedback and uninterrupted Quran/dhikr audio playback, including when the screen is off. |
| Motion / compass-related sensors | Used for Qibla alignment guidance on supported devices. |
5. Third-party services and content providers
To provide Islamic content and maps, the App may send network requests to third-party services. These providers process technical request data (such as IP address and request headers) under their own policies:
- AlQuran Cloud / Islamic Network (alquran.cloud, CDN audio hosts) — Quran text, translations, and recitation audio.
- Quran.com API (quran.com) — selected tafsir content.
- Hadith API (hadithapi.com) — Hadith collections you browse in the App.
- Google Maps / Google Play — if you open nearby-mosque search links or the Play Store listing / in-app review flow, Google’s terms and privacy policy apply to those services.
Prayer times are calculated on-device using open prayer-time algorithms (Adhan library) based on your coordinates; we do not upload your location to our own server because DeenMate does not operate a personal-data backend for this App.
We do not control third-party websites or APIs. Please review their privacy policies if you want details about how they handle server logs or CDN requests.
6. Data storage and retention
- Preferences, dhikr counts, reminder settings, and reading progress are stored locally on your device (for example via on-device key-value storage).
- Clearing App data, uninstalling the App, or resetting the device removes locally stored App information.
- We do not maintain a DeenMate cloud account profile for you, so there is no remote user profile for us to delete from our servers.
7. Data sharing and sale
We do not sell personal information. We share information only when:
- Needed to fetch content you requested from the providers listed above
- You initiate sharing through the device Share sheet or open an external map/store link
- Required by law, regulation, or valid legal process
- Needed to protect users, the App, or our legal rights
8. Children’s privacy
DeenMate is a general-audience religious utility app and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through the App, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate for an on-device app with local storage and HTTPS network requests to content providers. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please keep your device locked and updated.
10. Your choices and rights
- Revoke location or notification permission in your device settings at any time
- Disable prayer alarms / reminders inside the App
- Clear local App data or uninstall DeenMate to remove on-device preferences
- Depending on your region (for example GDPR/UK GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, delete, or restrict certain personal data. Because DeenMate keeps most data on your device and does not run a user account server, many requests are fulfilled by managing permissions or deleting App data on the device.
To exercise a privacy right or ask a question, email usamahafiz431@gmail.com.
11. International users
Content providers may process requests on servers located in different countries. If you use the App from outside those regions, your request metadata may be transferred to the country where the provider operates.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of DeenMate after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy. Material changes may also be highlighted in the App store listing or in-app notice where appropriate.
